CORCORAN IRRIGATION DISTRICT

January 24, 2023

 

The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Corcoran Irrigation District was held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at the office of the District, 1150 6 ½ Avenue, Corcoran, California at 9:00 a.m.

There were no announcements, additions or deletions.

 

Upon motion of Director Howard, seconded by Director Boyett, and unanimously carried, the Board approved and authorized Mrs. Stephens to draw Warrants on the Treasury of the District to pay invoices in the Warrant Register amounting to $919,679.32.

 

Upon motion of Director Boyett, seconded by Director Hansen, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the minutes of the December 13, 2022 District Board of Directors meeting with a correction of the spelling of former director Barrie Boyett’s name.

 

Ms. Stephens reported the General Fund checking account balance of $2,618,734.09 beginning December 1, 2022 and $2,198,637.18 ending December 31, 2022.

 

Ms. Stephens reported on certificate of investments at Kings Federal Credit Union, having a beginning December 1, 2022 balance of $279,995.73 earning interest of $178.35, amounting to an ending balance of $280,174.08. The Kings County Treasurer investments beginning December 1, 2022 balance reported was $4,382,475.93, gaining no interest. The District’s total investments, reported as of December 31, 2022, amounted to $4,662,650.01.

 

Ms. Stephens reported on the accounts receivable aging summary, with one grower continuing to be delinquent.

 

Mr. Eagle reported the December 2022 water deliveries totaled 3,378 acre-feet. Canal use totaled 447 acre-feet. Total water deliveries and Canal Use for December was 3,825 acre-feet. Year-to-date water sales and canal use totaled 76,464 and 51,781 acre-feet, respectively. December water supplies were provided by the District’s well field.  There were 2.53 inches of rainfall in December. Rainfall reported to date was 3.13 inches. The Kings River April-July runoff median forecast was 183% of average.

 

Mr. Eagle reported on the state of the District’s well field, with six wells in need of repairs and two wells recently repaired with Well 107 and Well 108 awaiting PG&E energization. Current total well production is 0 CFS, with a potential of 110 CFS.

 

Mr. Eagle reported the Cost of Operations at $155.00 per acre-foot for the year.

 

Mr. Eagle presented the 2022 Budget Variance with no concerns from the Board.

 

Mr. Eagle informed the Board that there was nothing new to report on grant funding.

 

Mr. Eagle informed the Board that there was nothing new to report on California High-Speed Rail Authority.

 

Mr. Eagle informed the Board that the January 10, 2023 El Rico GSA meeting had been canceled.

 

Mr. Eagle informed the Board that there was no new information on legislation.

 

The Board of Directors, Josh Fox and Mr. Eagle went into close session at 10:13 a.m.

 

Director Rietkerk reconvened open session at 10:27 a.m., with no action reportable.

 

Next Board meeting was set for February 14, 2023.

 

There being no further business before the Board, meeting was adjourned at 10:30 a.m.
