CORCORAN IRRIGATION DISTRICT

The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Corcoran Irrigation District was held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at the office of the District, 1150 6 ½ Avenue, Corcoran, California at 9:00 a.m.

There were no additions or deletions.
Mr. Eagle announced the promotion of Tristen VanZant to Operations Maranger on March 17, 2025 and the hire of Richard Hart for Canal Operations on May 12, 2025. Mr. Eagle also announced that the District expects to hire another Canal Operations employee soon.
Upon motion of Director Hansen, seconded by Director Howard, and unanimously carried, the Board approved and authorized Mrs. Vasquez to draw Warrants on the Treasury of the District to pay invoices in the Warrant Register amounting to $1,644,169.42 for April, 2025 and $1,365,118.93 for March, 2025.
Upon motion of Director Boyett, seconded by Director Holt, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the minutes of the March 11, 2025 regular District Board of Directors meeting as presented. April board meeting was canceled.
Mr. Eagle reported the General Fund checking account balance of $408,516.76, beginning April 1, 2025 and $(269,656.67) ending April 30, 2025.
Mr. Eagle reported on certificate of investments at Kings Federal Credit Union, having an April 1, 2025 balance of $294,528.58, earning interest of $835.17, resulting in ending balance of $295,363.75. The Kings County Treasurer investments balance beginning April 1, 2025 was $1,993,302.48, gaining no interest. The District’s total investments, reported as of April 31, 2025, amounted to $2,324,514.52.
Mr. Eagle reported on the accounts receivable aging summary, with two growers being delinquent.
Mr. Eagle reported on April 2025 water deliveries of 5,964 acre-feet and canal use of 0 acre-feet. Combined water deliveries and canal use for April totaled 5,964 acre-feet. April water supplies were provided by groundwater and surface water from the Kings and Kaweah River systems. April rainfall totaled 0.23 inches. 2024-2025 Water Year-to-date rainfall totaled 4.96 inches.
Mr. Eagle reported on the state of the District’s well field, with two wells in need of repairs. The current total well production was 110 CFS, with a potential of 115 CFS.
Mr. Eagle reported the Cost of Operations at $198.00 per acre-foot for the year.
Mr. Eagle asked the Board to consider adjusting the water toll rate to reflect current water conditions. The Board took no action. The current water toll rate remains at $150.00 per acre-foot.
Mr. Eagle announced that construction on the District’s Floating Solar Project had completed, and the project would be online by the end of the month.
Mr. Eagle informed the Board that California High-Speed Rail’s West Branch project would be complete by the end of the month.
Mr. Eagle informed the Board that the May El Rico GSA Board Meeting originally scheduled for 1:00 p.m. had been canceled.
Mr. Eagle informed the Board that there was no new information on Grants.
Mr. Eagle informed the Board that there was no new information on Legislation.
The Board, Mr. Fox and Mr. Eagle went into closed session 10:00 a.m.
Director Gilkey reconvened open session at 10:20 a.m., with no action reportable.
Next Board meeting was set for June 10, 2025.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:25 a.m.
